Kinley Welcome Bags

We are in the process of launching our “Hurrikanen’s Welcome Bags” program. Eventually we would like to be in other hospitals but for now we are focused on CHOP. In each of these backpacks we would include a brochure, inside which there would be a list of parents who would be interested in acting as a mentor/navigational patient advocate. We will include their number and email. These are parents who have already been through treatment and have great advice to give on how to survive treatment.

We will also include an application for which they can fill out and submit to their social workers to apply for gas/bill assistance. We will also include a blanket, a water bottle, chapstick, earbuds, iTunes cards, amazon gift cards, socks, beanie, his book, a little toiletry bag including- lotion, aquaphor, bandaids, shampoo, conditioner, tylenol, activity book, pens, legos, gloves, snacks, composition journals, and more upon what parents are currently asking for.
